The results of VEMP recordings are part of the neuro-otologic test battery and enable diagnosis of various vestibular disorders or differentiation between non-vestibular and peripheral vestibular vertigo. However, the methods for recording VEMPs vary substantially, although recording and stimulation parameters as well as methods of data analysis have a significant influence on the results.
