The ODTs market is ex-pected to experience continuous growth in the coming years despite the internal challenges faced by commercial manufacturers. This paper initiates a comprehensive discussion of the properties of ODTs, including palatability and taste, drug content, disintegration, mechanical strength, mois-ture content, safety, and efficacy. The formulation factors that affect each of these qualities are also discussed. Additionally, this review delves into the processes of the production of ODTs, en-compassing the approaches and technologies from the mixing of active ingredients and recipients to the formation and packaging of ODTs.
