MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION OF THE CEPHALARIA GIGANTEA (LEDEB.) BOBROV

Giant cephalaria [Cephalaria gigantea (Ledeb.) Bobrov] is a promising source of biologically active compounds. The analysis of the scientific periodical literature shows a high interest in the aboveground part of this plant species. To give the Cephalaria gigantea herbs pharmacopoeia status, it is necessary to solve a number of issues, in particular, the development of regulatory documentation for the standardization of new medicinal plant raw materials. One of the important aspects of standardization of medicinal plant raw materials is the issue of confirming its authenticity by morphological and anatomical analysis. The literature data indicate, that the anatomical and histological features of the structure of the Cephalaria gigantea herbs have not been sufficiently studied. This article presents the results of a morphological and anatomical study of the aboveground part of the Cephalaria gigantea.
