To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to evaluate erectile phenomenon using percutaneous ultrasonic elastography in Japan. Rate of change in shear wave transmission velocity due to prostaglandin E1 injection in the corpus cavernosum penis was associated with the degree of erection. Therefore, the rate of change in shear wave transmission velocity in the corpus cavernosum penis could be used as an objective index of erectile phenomenon.
