Échographie pour algies pelviennes chroniques : savoir-être et savoir-faire

Les douleurs pelviennes chroniques sont un motif fréquent de consultation. Après l’interrogatoire et l’examen clinique réalisé chaque fois que possible et consenti, l’échographie pelvienne est l’examen de première intention. Cet examen peut être réalisé par voie abdominale seule, mais il est alors d’un apport diagnostique excessivement limité. L’examen par voie endovaginale est le plus performant mais il touche l’intimité de la patiente nécessitant l’association d’un savoir-être au profit du savoir-faire, particulièrement dans ce contexte algique. L’évolution sociétale est celle d’une prise de conscience de l’atteinte à l’intimité associée à cet examen et a justifié l’édition de rapports ministériels, chartes et recommandations de bonne pratique de nos sociétés savantes. Le savoir-être permet l’optimisation du savoir-faire dans un climat de respect et d’écoute mutuels.
