The research was performed using the data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland (GUS). The outline of the research supports the conclusion that large Polish cities should make changes to increase the area of functional green spaces. In line with global and European trends, investments in the development of green infrastructure should be a priority in the development strategies of Polish cities.
