The power of an electron beam along with the mean free path of electrons are found from the measurements of the current-voltage characteristic and energy efficiency of the electron-beam generators. The degree of ionization of the gas mixture is calculated assuming a balance between the ionization and recombination processes of the charged particles. It is demonstrated that the dissociative recombination of particles plays the key role in plasma created by an electron beam in a gas mixture of medium pressure. The validity of the initial assumptions is estimated.
