Religious character is one of the important things that must be possessed by students. To foster religious character values in students, one of the things that can be done is to instill religious character values through Islamic Religious Education. The research conducted aims to find out the obstacles faced by teachers and students in cultivating religious character, and will reveal the right way to overcome these obstacles. In this study, the authors used qualitative research methods. The data collection method used is in the form of interviews and observations regarding the problem under study. From the research that has been done, the following results are obtained: (1) the obstacles faced by the students; the main obstacle faced by students is the lack of enthusiasm and not seriousness in listening to learning. (2) the constraints faced by the teachers; the main obstacle faced by teachers is the limited space for improvisation in teaching due to conventional facilities.
