The analysis was done using the finite element method using the FEMM 4.2 software package. For the modelling of the EMS magnetic circuit, a two-dimensional axis-symmetric model was defined and one characteristic section was simulated. Since a time-invariant magnetic field originating from a constant direct current is considered, a magnetostatic type of simulation is adopted. The paper presents the simulation results related to the value of the magnetic field induction and the attractive force of the electromagnet for several characteristic distances of interest.
