Sometimes cofactors can modulate of anaphylaxis and significantly reduce the required dose of an allergen for the development of an anaphylactic reaction. In such cases anaphylaxis is considered as cofactor-dependent anaphylaxis. Alcohol consumption is one of the leading factors of cofactor-dependent anaphylaxis.
