Morphological and ecological characteristics of almond taxa and their usage areas are explained. The research was carried out in the provinces of Adıyaman, Hakkâri, Malatya, Şanlıurfa and Van where Prunus taxa naturally occur in the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia Regions of Turkey. Within the scope of the research, field studies were carried out by compiling literature records. The characteristic features of the taxa identified during the field studies were recorded by on-site observation, photographing and measurement method in the office. The identification of the specimens collected in accordance with the herbarium technique, together with the records kept, was carried out using Browicz (1972). According to the results obtained in the research, P. dulcis, P. orientalis and P. arabica are used in afforestation and erosion control areas, P. dulcis in almond orchard plant, P. orientalis and P. arabica are used as hedge plants, and some taxa are used as rootstock, and they grow in different ecological areas as well as form, leaf and flowers have been found to have a visual effect.
