Thus, psycho-oncology has emerged as an interdisciplinary field with the aim of addressing these issues and providing support for these patients. In this context, this study aims to describe the importance of psycho-oncology in the treatment of cancer patients. It was found that, when the individual is diagnosed with an oncological disease, only physical care cannot be offered, as it is a multifactorial disease, where emotions play a fundamental role.
