CICLO DE PROTESTOS DE 2013: CONTRIBUIÇÕES DO CAMPO DE ESTUDOS DE MOVIMENTOS SOCIAIS E PROTESTO PARA A ANÁLISE DE UM OBJETO DE DISPUTA

This paper aims to present arguments and concepts that help understanding the 2013 cycle of protests from the field of social movements and protest studies. This is considered to be a relevant contribution, since a significant portion of the 2013 interprepations and analyzes do not dialogue with the knowledge accumulated by this field of study. Guided by this objective, the paper seeks to avoid the controversy related to attemps to atribute a “meaning of 2013”, which is highlighted by the public debate. On the contrary, it is proposed tha heterogeneity, ambiguity conflict and dynamism should be treated as elements that make up 2013 cycle of protests and make it impossible to assign a “meaning” to it.
