The authors note, that the Republic of Kazakhstan is the ninth largest state in the world with a multi-ethnic population. At the same time, the density and ethnic composition of the population are unevenly distributed, which affects the features of marriage and family behavior of Kazakhstanis. On the basis of official statistics, as well as data from secondary analysis of sociological studies, the authors analyze such indicators as: marriage rate, divorce rate, age of marriage, attitudes to civil marriages, having many children and others. The data also allows tracking the changes, as well as compare the situation in the south of the country with that in other regions. The study shows that there are differences in the marital and family behavior of Kazakhstanis depending on the region of residence. In particular, the Comparative analysis demonstrates that indicators of the marriage, divorce, age of marriage and the number of children in many ways distinguish the Southern region from other parts of Kazakhstan. These and other characteristics caused by geographical and socio-demographic features indicate the need for differentiated approaches in the implementation of public policy and the activities of public organizations.","PeriodicalId":497749,"journal":{"name":"Vestnik RGGU.
