Some supervision activities are only a complementary document to fulfill requirements. Supervision is sometimes only carried out to fulfill the demands of duty as a principal whose results are often not conveyed to the teacher concerned to be guided and evaluated. So that teachers do not consider supervision as a reflection of what competencies need to be developed so that learning objectives can be achieved and the quality of students is increasing. On the one hand, self-development for teachers is absolutely necessary to adjust teachers' abilities in dealing with curriculum developments that have implications for teaching methods. This study aims to obtain data and see whether there is an influence between supervision on improving teachers' professional competence at SMAN 3 Bukittinggi. This research uses quantitative method. Data collection techniques using questionnaires to 52 subject teachers who were sampled. Data processing using SPSS 25 to get generalization.
