Deux images de cultures francophones chez Jean Cocteau / Two images of Francophone cultures at Jean Cocteau

Résumé: L’œuvre de l’artiste français Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) est vaste et variée, elle propose en différents langages sa perception de la diversité culturelle au monde. Le Brésil s’intéresse aux créations de cet artiste depuis 1912, un intérêt qui porte entre autres sur les rapports de Cocteau aux diverses cultures. Cet article a pour but de présenter une réflexion sur deux images de cultures francophones, soit l’Algérie et le Sénégal, créées par l’artiste en poésie et au cinéma, et sur leur éventuelle réception brésilienne. Les archives de la Biblioteca Nacional disponibles sur Internet ont été consultées, ainsi que des travaux scientifiques menés au Brésil. Cette recherche a révélé un intérêt brésilien inégal pour les pays visités par Cocteau à travers son art. Mots-clés : Jean Cocteau ; cultures francophones ; rapports France-Brésil. Abstract: The work of the French artist Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) is vast and varied, it proposes in different languages his perception of cultural diversity in the world. Brazil is interested in creations of this artist since 1912, an interest which carries inter alia on the relation between Cocteau and various cultures. The purpose of this article is to present a reflection on two images of French-speaking cultures, that is to say Algeria and Senegal, created by the artist in poetry and with the cinema, and on their possible Brazilian reception. The files of Biblioteca Nacional available on Internet were consulted, as well as scientific work led to Brazil.
