Evaluation of Fistula Laser Closure (FiLaC) in Management of High Trans- sphincteric Fistula- in- ano
Background: As a revolutionary sphincter-preserving approach, Wilhelm proposed "Fistula Laser Closure" (FiLaC) in 2016. It uses a radial emitting laser probe and had an initial rate of success of 81.8 percent in 11 patients with a median follow-up of 7.4 months. Aim of the study: To analyze the Fistula Laser Closure (FiLaC) technique's efficacy in treating high trans-sphincteric fistulas in ano, look at the procedure's effects on anal continence, and predictors of success. Patients and methods: This prospective cohort research was conducted between April 2021 and November 2021 on 20 patients with high transsphincteric fistula in ano at the Department of Surgery at Al-Azhar University Hospitals, Cairo, Egypt.
