European Research Area: opportunities to modernize the research & development system of the Republic of Moldova

The actuality of the research consists in examining the current political framework and the stage of integration of the Republic of Moldova in the European Research Area (ERA). The study combines a retrospective evaluation and a prospective evaluation. While the retrospective evaluation looks at the results and implementation of the national and European policy framework on integration into the European Research Area, the prospective evaluation focuses on the potential benefits or costs of subsequent policy actions. In doing so, the study highlights the opportunities, the results but also the shortcomings due to previous policy actions. The study is based on the analysis and examination of a wide range of national and European Commission policy documents and reports, other information resources available online.
