On the other hand, the reception Jakobson got in France, from 1926 on, was more suspicious, and became later clearly hostile. Nonetheless, L. Tesnière, a specialist of the Slovene language, a Professor of the Faculty of Arts in Strasbourg, established strong and confiding links with Jakobson. Both linguists exchanged theirs books and reviews.
