Perjuangan Seorang Perempuan “Raisah” dari Pinggiran Kota Padang dalam Dinamika Politik Lokal Tahun 1930-an sampai Orde Baru

This study, aims to describe Raisah's efforts as a local female figure in developing renewed understanding in Mata Air and its surroundings, especially in the field of education. In addition, this study also wants to explain the place and position of Raisah in the dynamics of local politics from the 1930s to the New Order. This research uses the historical method that is combined with the life story or biography method. The results of the study illustrate: (1) Raisah is a local female figure who struggles hard to develop renewal ideas through education; (2) Raisah's struggle since 1935, to develop education in Mata Air, received resistance from traditional Islamic groups, because politically this region was controlled by traditional Islamic groups under the auspices of the Tarbiyah Islamiah Union (PERTI); (3) The ups and downs of national politics also influenced the ups and downs of Raisah's struggle in its reform mission; (4) In an effort to develop his renewal ideas, Raisah has several strategies to control internal conflicts between groups in this region, even though Raisah is actually a figure who cannot be compromised and has a hard temper.
