The fish were captured using dragnets in an area adjacent to the Guamá River, with an average total length of 4.2±0.8 cm and total average weight of 0.9±0.3 g. Fragments of gills were collected and analyzed fresh under a light microscope, where the presence of cysts full of spores of Myxobolus sp. with unequal polar capsules was observed.
