Article discusses the need of standardized methods of cartographical presentation of BIM data. Several examples of data visualization methods used by Facility Management systems and indoor navigation applications are provided. The authors pay their attention to the lack of standards of data visualization in both domains and propose adoption of cartographical presentation methods to building floor plans created from BIM models. The research carried out and described in this paper is aimed at integrating into the process of creating a cartographic method of interior building presentation. At this stage, only an attempt was made to assess the potential for cartographic visualization of BIM data and to show examples of presentations in which cartographic methodology is needed. The presentations of interiors presented at this stage are of a demonstrative nature.
