A survey on energy detection schemes in cognitive radios
With the miniaturisation of the computing devices, the technological market has seen a rapid surge in various wireless technologies penetrating into our lives. The scarcity of spectrum is well established fact. Thus it is extremely essential that this scarce resource needs to be optimally utilized. Cognitive Radio technology has evolved as a pioneering technology to address issues relating effective spectrum utilization. Various methodologies exist for sensing the voids in spectrum, primarily owned by Primary Users, which if vacant, can be temporarily utilized by various Secondary Users. This paper aims at providing an insight into various energy detection schemes for spectrum sensing.
