In order to accurately capture the effect of different specimen sizes on the failure load and failure mode of the AS4/PEEK composite laminate, a user material subroutine (UMAT) based on the failure criteria and washer coupling update method was implemented in Abaqus. In addition, a mesh dependency study of the present model was performed using different meshes. a comparison was made with the present model, the integrated Abaqus model and those available in the literature.
