Research on the Construction of National-Level Continuing Education Base in the Context of the "Silk Road Economic Belt"

The development of the country is inseparable from the support of talents. With the continuous advancement of "The Belt and Road Initiative", the demand for highly skilled talents in various industries is increasing, the technology is changing rapidly, and it is more and more urgent to update knowledge. How can talents in various industries learn and update knowledge without the limitation of time and place has become an urgent problem for education in the new era, and the birth and development of distance continuing education have made all these dreams come true. The country's emphasis on educational informationization has also greatly promoted the rapid development of distance education. Xinjiang Vocational & Technical College of Communications was approved as a national-level continuing education base in 2015. The construction was successfully completed in 2018 through five aspects: mechanism construction, curriculum resources, online platform, teaching staff and scientific research. The base is mainly based on distance education, supplemented by face-to-face education. It is hoped that this paper can provide some reference for other colleges which are building continuing education bases.
