Criteria Used in the Location Analysis in Banking Literature

This paper aims to survey the existing literature on the relationship between banking and space. Location selection is one of the most important decision-making processes which requires to consider several criteria based on the mission and the strategy. Banks have similar problems as industrial and commercial enterprises. Analyses about the best locations especially for individual, entrepreneur, corporate and commercial bank branches is an important topic for banks. This study proposes a literature on decision support methodology to identify the criteria and their importance in selecting the best places to locate different types of bank branches.
