Implementation of Common Information Model in Public Enterprise Electric Utility of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Power utilities are facing a steady increase in the number of services required to optimize business processes. Consequently, power companies are facing an increase in the amount of data and the number of transactions that are being performed. In such circumstances, it is necessary to establish an optimal mechanism for the exchange of data between different systems of the information system, but also with external regulatory bodies. Establishing an interface between each component of an information system is not acceptable as it implies significant changes to the system. Therefore, the paper discusses how to establish an enterprise service architecture in a specific business environment, which involves implementing a standardized model using specific data conversion tools.
