Material and methods: To find appropriate publications there were used keywords: vertigo, balance disorders, questionnaires assessing vertigo, diagnostics of vestibular disorders. Due to access to Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect and PubMed databases, Polish and foreign publications were analyzed. They describe the process of creating new research tools and validation of the questionnaires assessing vertigo and balance disorders carried out by various medical centers in the world. Also materials regarding otoneurologic diagnostics were used. Conclusions: In everyday clinical practice, the role of questionnaires which are reliably filled by the patient is a valuable source of information. They can help to obtain information about the intensity of vertigo and balance disorders, their impact on the daily functioning of patients and the effectiveness of treatment.
