Slavic Equivalents of the Greek ἐφόδιον in the Translation of the Hexameron by John Chrysostom
The article is dedicated to the issue of the rare words as lexical markers for dating and localization of Old Bulgarian translations from the end of 9–10th century. Тhe Slavic equivalents of ἐφόδιον in Homily 5 of the Hexameron by John Chrysostom are analyzed comparatively based on the two copies: the middle-Bulgarian Zogr19 and the Serbian (Resav by spelling) RM4/2. One of the aims is to answer the question of whether these two copies represent two independent translations or whether they are two versions of one early Old Bulgarian translation. The presence of the rare lexeme in the two copies supports the point of view that the translation of Homily 5 in Zogr19 and RM4/2 is the same, but it is introduced in two versions. The text seeks to answer the question of whether it is possible to accept the rare lexeme as characteristic of a specific group of Old Bulgarian translated texts, as well as accepting it as the idiolect of a specific translator.
