The Extent to Which Identified Programmatic Characteristics of Middle Level Education are Implemented in the Middle Level Schools of Colorado

AbstractArea of Investigation This study examined perceived present and desired implementation of eighteen programmatic characteristics of middle level education as identified from middle level education literature.Methodology Subsequent to review of a list of characteristics by nationally-recognized experts, a Survey of Middle Level Characteristics was developed and validated. The survey was administered to the principal and 3 randomly selected teachers of 50 middle and 50 junior high schools randomly selected from urban, suburban, and outlying city school districts of Colorado.
