Abstract
This chapter discusses the relationship between religions and tourism, local stakeholders' perceptions of tourism, and the factors that influence those views. A case study of the different perceived impacts (economic, social, cultural, and environmental) of the development of Buddhism-related tourism on Mount E'mei (China) is included.
