Design of a Balanced Push-Pull Resonant Converter with a Voltage Doubler Class-DE Rectifier
A high efficiency zero voltage switching (ZVS) push-pull resonant converter with a voltage doubler Class-DE resonant rectifier based on the general balance concept is presented to reduce common-mode noise. The matching network is placed at the secondary side of the high-frequency transformer and employing the secondary leakage inductance as the resonant inductor. The design procedure is based on the principle of the ZVS push-pull resonant converter with a voltage doubler Class-DE resonant rectifier. By a prototype is operating at a 12 VDC input voltage, a 380 VDC output voltage, a rated output power of 150 W, and a 60–90 kHz variable switching frequency. This concept is applied to other types of ZVS push-pull resonant converters.
