Provoking Medication Adherence With Automated IoT System
Medication non-adherence is a nonpareil medical concern in the contemporary world. Tremendous research in the concerned field has resulted in innumerable solutions to the concern. While most of these modern solutions concentrate on recording the medication habits of patients, they fail to incorporate the schedule of medication into the daily life of patients. Significant research regarding the concerned problem in the medical world has revealed several key factors contributing to the cause of ever-increasing medication non-adherence in patients. This paper presents a technological solution to the issue by exploiting the domains of the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT signifies the future of technology with its exponentially increasing growth and demand. Thus, ensuring one of the best possible solutions using IoT, the paper aims to eradicate medication non-adherence by attending to all its contributing factors. In the form of a solution, this paper proposes a chain for medication that will involve the patients and doctors and caretakers connecting all of them with wireless and automated technology. The automated medication box provided to the patients aims to fit medicines in the busy schedules of their daily lives with minimal effort. The mobile app provided to the patients aims to reduce the disillusioned psychological perspectives of patients especially the elderly and help them gain their trust and wisdom on the medication process. Thus, considering all contributing factors this paper aims to resolve the widespread concern with minimal but extremely effective methods.
