Hardware-in-loop verification of battery management system
Battery Management System (BMS) is one of the key components in Electric Vehicle (EV), Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), or plug in electric vehicles (PHEV). The BMS functions must be fully verified before used in vehicles. It is difficult and expensive to validate a BMS with real battery in charging or discharging process. To address this problem, a battery pack level HIL system is developed base on CAN bus, which can simulate a Lithium-ion battery pack. Also, some other components which are in connection with BMS are simulated in the HIL system. The hardware and software of the HIL system is introduced in this paper.
