Wireless sensor networks (WSN) usually consist of a large number of sensors and sensor nodes. The communication network systems are expected to achieve effective and efficient works. This paper proposes a novel wireless smart sensor node design. The nodes combine with a micro-computer unit (MCU) and a ZigBee module. The smart sensor node can transmit preprocessed sensing information or case status to a base station instead of transmitting raw sensing data.
