An Effective Correlation Formula for Enhancing the Detectability of Spread Spectrum-based Watermarking
This paper presents a new spread spectrum (SS)based audio watermarking scheme, which provides a striking correlation peak that facilitates watermark detection in the DCT domain. The superiority of the proposed scheme lies in the incorporation of magnitude adaptation, which balances the uneven distribution of the involved DCT coefficients in a selected frequency range. In this preliminary study, the embedding strength characterized by the signal-to-noise ratio is preset at 16 dB. Experiment results confirm that the watermark embedding contributes negligible degradation in perceptual quality. The results of the detectability test also indicate that the proposed scheme significantly outperforms the other two SS-based methods.
