Combined with a pulse height analyzer and a frequency spectrum analyzer, the transducer system has been used to detect three types of simulated origins of PD which often exist in turbine generator stator winding (discharges in cavity, discharges at endwindings and discharges due to broken strand). The above three types of PD origins can be recognized by using the acquired time domain spectrum and frequency domain spectrum.
