Model Development and Assessment of a Complex Intersection of a Road Network using Modern Software Systems
This paper presents the results of the development of a complex intersection model in St. Petersburg through which all types of public transport (trams, trolleybuses, buses, fixed-route taxis) pass. The model is created using the modern software package PTV VISSIM. Evidence is presented confirming the relevance of the work and application of computer simulation methods to improve the efficiency of the organization of the road network. A review of publications on the development of the PTV VISSIM software package has been completed. A simulation model of the intersection was developed and its effectiveness evaluated.
