The antenna is operating from 3.1-14GHz frequency band for VSWR ≤ 2 and provides notched band characteristics from 3.3-3.7GHz. A notched band characteristic is realized by strategically adding two quarter wavelength parasitic element at the edges of radiating patch. The simulated results of the prototype antenna are obtained using CAD FEKO software. A prototype occupies a compact area of 28 ×17 × 1.6 mm3. Antenna is fabricated on low cost FR4 substrate and fed by 50Ω microstrip line.
