This type of research is quantitative research through the correlation method. The research population was high school students in the city of Padang as many as 85 people consisting of 3 class groups. The research sample was taken by using total sampling technique. Data collection on reading interest and learning motivation was carried out using a questionnaire technique in the form of a closed questionnaire, while data on the ability to write descriptions was obtained using a test technique in the form of a text description writing performance test. Data analysis was performed with the Pearson Product Moment (PPM) correlation test, multiple correlation tests through the F test and t test. The results of the study show that, first, reading interest contributes to students' skills in writing descriptive text. Second, learning motivation contributes positively to students' writing skills. 摘要

摘要本研究旨在探讨巴东市高中生的学习动机与阅读兴趣对其写作能力的影响。这类研究是通过关联方法进行的定量研究。研究对象为巴东市高中生,共85人,分为3个班级。研究样本采用全抽样法。阅读兴趣和学习动机方面的数据收集采用封闭式问卷调查的方式进行,描述写作能力方面的数据收集采用文本描述写作能力测试的方式进行。数据分析采用Pearson积差(PPM)相关检验,多重相关检验采用F检验和t检验。研究结果表明,首先,阅读兴趣有助于学生写作描述性文本的技能。第二,学习动机对学生的写作技能有积极的作用。第三,对阅读的兴趣和共同学习的动机有助于学生写作文本描述的技能。
