The Role of Air Transport and Logistics Networks for Sustainable development
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of air transport, logistics networks, economic growth, and industrialization on CO2 emissions generated in the transportation sector Research design, data and methodology : Panel data related to air transport, shipping connectivity index, GDP, and industrialization was collected from 2006 to 2014, and panel unit root tests and panel cointegration tests were conducted to confirm the stability and long-term causal relationship of the data. Subsequently variables affecting carbon dioxide were identified using panel FMOLS and panel DOLS, and the causal relationship between these variables was analyzed through panel Granger causal analysis Results : According to panel FMOLS and panel DOLS analysis, air transport and logistics networks reduce carbon dioxide, but economic growth increases carbon dioxide emissions. Conclusions : From a logistics perspective, air transport is influenced by GDP, while logistics networks are impacted by carbon dioxide emissions generated in the transportation sector. However, when considering the long-term viewpoint, it has been recognized that these factors affect industrialization and GDP
