Condition Monitoring and Defect Locating of Pumping Equipment by Tensometry and Analysis of Wave Propagation
A new method of condition monitoring is proposed is this Paper. It is based on analysis of geometrical location of excitation sources, i.e. a defect. This method takes into account that shock impulses from a defect have a certain wave propagation speed, so shock impulses reach sensors with different delays. Careful analysis of signal, measured by sensors in real time, gives the exact time of time moment of coming of impulses, hence in is possible to locate a source a wave by geometrical triangulation. Its location gives information what element of equipment is damaged. And a magnitude of a shock impulse gives information of defect damage. The proposed method may timely detect and identify a defect, hence increase reliability and durability of pumping equipment.
