The Sm:ZnO thin films were annealed in various atmosphere such as air (ambient), oxygen and nitrogen. A number of techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, UV-visible and photoluminescence (PL) were used to characterize the obtained Sm:ZnO thin films. Raman spectroscopy and XRD studies were conform wurzite structure of Sm:ZnO thin films.
