It analyzes the unified performance of Energy Detection (ED) of Spectrum Sensing (SS) for generalized fading channels in Cognitive Radios (CRs). The primary objective of this work is to analyze the effects of large and small scale fading channels in CSS. Secondly, the effect of different fading channels on channel throughput and global error function is observed for different values of N in N-out-of-K-rule, where N and K represent selected Secondary Users and total number of Secondary Users respectively. Thirdly, the false alarm and miss-detection functions are evaluated for different values of N and K under various fading environments to choose an optimum value of N for the proposed rule so that it can be successfully implemented in a FAN.
