Investigating ASEAN CSR Network’s Influence on Corporate Social Responsibility: The Case of the Food and Beverages Industry
This paper was aimed to investigating the external environment’s impact, focusing the ASEAN CSR Network on Thai listed companies’ CSR disclosures based on the institutional theory. Overall, there are 44 sample companies who are members and non-members of this network within the SET listed food and beverages industry. The data used are secondary data obtained from the firms’ reports and are analyzed through statistical t-test. The results have shown that with this network’s existence, it has notably enhanced their members’ CSR disclosures with respect to the internationally accepted standard especially in the aspect of environmental. Compared to the non-member companies, this network’s members have statistically more CSR disclosures. With this, it can be practical suggestions for the institution to provide the support for companies’ CSR and for the company in joining the network enhancing its CSR disclosures at a more globally accepted level to strengthen its image and performance within the global stage.
