COMPETITIVENESS OF FOREIGN TRADE IN CEREALS AT COUNTY LEVEL (NUTS 3) IN ROMANIA

In this paper we wanted to determine the export and cereal value potential for Romania at the level of the 41 counties together with the Municipality of Bucharest. For this purpose, data from national databases, namely the National Institute of Statistics, were used for the cereals product group, analysing exports and imports, and also calculating the trade balance. These data will be plotted both graphically and to determine the trade balance values, i.e. to determine the surplus or deficit for each county. In the end, both counties with surpluses will be determined, but especially potential counties with grain trade deficits, given certain agriculturally unproductive areas.
