A Preliminary Investigation of Elementary School Teachers' Abilities on Numeracy Literacy
Numerical literacy is the capacity to think using concepts, procedures, facts, and mathematical tools to tackle issues in regular daily existence. The purpose of this study was to identify the ability of elementary school teachers about numeracy literacy. The method used is a case study. 57 elementary school teachers were the subjects of this study. The data were gathered utilizing questionnaires, documentation, testing, and interview methods. Data validity testing techniques using triangulation techniques and time. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative by Milles and Huberman. The results of this study indicate that: teachers have not fully mastered the concept of numeracy literacy and the ability of teachers in developing numeracy literacy questions is still limited. Hence, teachers should build their comprehension of concepts and how to foster numeracy education in primary schools.
