The effect of temperature on the beta particle corona counter performance is studied. A theoretical model is used to study the effect of temperature on counter operating voltage and beta-particle-triggered corona pulse characteristics. The effects on the counter energy response are explained. A compensation method for the errors due to temperature effects is suggested.
