The new proposed system allows a video classification network to run on edge devices to alert the homeowner of any significant events happening in front of their home without any other input, such as the button being pressed. The key aspect of the new proposed system is the creation of a doorbell dataset that can provide researchers with a set of videos that is large enough to properly train a network that is ready to be implemented on a user’s doorstep.
