So that biased views appear, such as accusing God of being evil and not paying attention to humans or natural disasters that are purely natural occurrences. This is not only happening among the general public, but also in the Christian community. This paper aims to show that this biased view of natural disasters is unfounded. Through soteriological methods and biblical metanarratives, it will be seen that through natural disasters, God is showing His great love for humans and intends to rebuke them for all the evil that was done before Him and the evil against nature, so that they turn to Him. Natural disasters are indeed scary things for the wicked, but they are a strengthening of faith for believers and a sign that later in the new heavens and earth, there will be no more natural disasters. Thus, it is better for believers to be actively involved in anticipatory actions for natural disasters than to argue.\n \nAbstrak\nBencana alam sangat sering terjadi di Indonesia, namun masih banyak perbedaan pandangan tentang apa sebenarnya bencana alam? Sehingga muncul pandangan-pandangan bias seperti menuduh Allah jahat dan tidak perhatian dengan manusia atau bencana alam murni kejadian alamiah. Hal ini bukan hanya terjadi di kalangan umum, tetapi juga ada di dalam komunitas Kristen. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan bahwa pandangan bias mengenai bencana alam tidak berdasar. Melalui metode soteriologis dan metanarasi alkitabiah, justru akan terlihat bahwa melalui bencana alam, Allah sedang menunjukkan sangat besar kasih-Nya terhadap manusia dan berniat untuk menegur mereka dari segala kejahatan yang dilakukan di hadapan-Nya dan kejahatan terhadap alam, agar mereka berbalik pada-Nya. Bencana alam memang hal yang menakutkan bagi orang fasik, namun menjadi penguatan iman bagi orang percaya dan tanda bahwa nanti di langit dan bumi yang baru, tidak ada lagi bencana alam. sehingga, lebih baik orang percaya terlibat aktif dalam tindakan antisipatif bencana alam daripada berdebat. 摘要

Bencana alam sangat sering terjadi di Indonesia, namun masih banyak perbedaan pandangan tentang apa sebenarnya bencana alam? Sehingga muncul pandangan-pandangan bias seperti menuduh Allah jahat dan tidak perhatian dengan manusia atau bencana alam murni kejadian alamiah. Hal ini bukan hanya terjadi di kalangan umum, tetapi juga ada di dalam komunitas Kristen. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan bahwa pandangan bias mengenai bencana alam tidak berdasar.
